.NAME Domain Names

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal domain extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. At the beginning, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to obtain john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Existing third-level names remained operational.

Through our company, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to switch the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer key from the current registration service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular terms on who can purchase a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
